Curiosity…
Playful, graceful, and a little marvelous, each alpaca has a unique personality.
Alpacas are timid but curious - reach out and they may shy away but stand quietly and they will soon want to connect with you.
Which will you be drawn to - Heaven, Cartwright, Oberon, Puck, Q, Cassidy or Briar?
Connection…
Your private sixty minute alpaca experience will begin with introductions. Learn a little bit about these gentle animals (did you know they have been domesticated for 5000 years?) and spend some time getting acquainted with the Wanderlight herd. Select your companion for the walk and spend some time building trust with him.
Kinship…
With patience, kindness and presence you will gain the trust of your alpaca and be ready to set off on the guided walk in the company of your new friend, with many opportunities for photos along the way.
Wanderlight offers a time apart to form a bond with a unique animal and fill your senses with the beauty of the natural world…
…and it’s fun!
Please note…
The walk is through the farm fields and we will proceed in all seasons and most weather (not thunderstorms). Please come prepared with appropriate clothes - close-toed shoes, hats and sunscreen and bug repellent in the summer, warm boots and outdoor gear in the winter. Each experience is tailored to the specific weather and trail conditions of the day.
I currently have 12 alpacas so if your group is larger than 11 the alpacas will be shared. The experience is designed to be private and personal for small groups.
Environmental and Bio-security Policy
We love the Earth, our farm and our animals. We strive constantly for kinship with the natural world through our agricultural practices. We prefer that you bring reusable water bottles and litter-free snacks. There are no garbage/recycling bins available.
Due to the fact that there are communicable diseases between animal species for the safety of our animals we ask that you do not wear boots or shoes that have been at other farms or zoos within 48 hours and that you do not wear the same clothes that have been worn while working with cattle.
We respectfully acknowledge that we are on the treaty and traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg. We offer our gratitude to the First Peoples for their care for, and teachings about, our earth and our relations. May we honour those teachings.
